Abdomen Pain
Differential diagnosis for Abdomen pain:
Cholecystits
RQG pain, fever. positive Murphy sign
Peptic ulcer disease:
epigastric pain, pain related to food, Hx of NSAID.
Acute pancreatitis:
midabdominal pain, radiated to back, N/V, Hx of alcolol, gallstone
Hepititis:
RUQ pain, history of traveling, sexual active, drug user, jaundie
Diverticulitis:
LLQ pain, fever, history of constipation.
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD):
Abdomen pain, Diarrhea, weight loss, joint pain.
Lactose intolerance:
bloating, cramps, diarrhea, flatence, no weight loss. associated with dairy products.
Irritable bowel syndrome:
abdoemn pain 3x during weed for the last 3 month. Abdomen pain relieved by bowel movement. no weight loss constipation alternating with diarrhea.
Appendicitis:
fever, anorexia, periumbilical pain with RLQ tenderness.
Malabsoprtion:
weight loss, chronic diarrhea, steatorrhea.
Urinary tract infection:
pelvic pain, sexual active woemen, elderly age, dark urine, dysuria, urgency, frequency.
Physical Examination for Abdomen pain:
HEENT:
Mouth and throat, skin/ eye examination for jaundice
Abdomen exam:
Auscultation, palgation, percussion, Check for CVA tenderness for pylonephritis, murphy sign for Cholecystitis, psoas, Rovsing, and obturator sign for appendicitis.
Cardiovascular exam:
Auscultation
Pulmonary exam:
Auscultation
